It's been a wild 10 months since we took the reins at Paper Rain, and we've got some exciting news to share with you.
Starting our journey during a recession has been quite the adventure. We've faced challenges and been forced to ponder significant questions:
What does the world truly need?
What's our unique gift to share?
Where can we create the most impact?
Our core values remain steadfast:
- Promoting a better planet through sustainable and ethical products.
- Showcasing the extraordinary talents of New Zealand artists.
- Contributing to worthy causes with each product sale.
What's evolving is our focus.
We will be shifting our focus away from clothing.
In the fashion realm, ethical and sustainable wear is no longer a standout feature. Every brand claims it, whether genuinely or not. Our 'rain-fed organic' and 'GOTS certified' tees are no longer unique. Plus, the fashion industry is price slashing for business survival. We've had to do the same and it just doesn't sit right with our values.
Here's the good news: we still have some blank t-shirt stock, and there will be limited releases in the coming months. These will be our FINAL t-shirt releases, so act swiftly if you want one.
So, where are we going?
Our focus is shifting to our artists.
Our vision is to become a global platform for showcasing New Zealand's incredible artists, native flora and fauna, and handcrafted macrocarpa skateboards.
Our mission centres on discovering fresh artistic talent and nurturing our growing pool of artists. We aim to unveil the magic of Kiwi artists both locally and worldwide, interweaving their art with our skateboard culture.
But we can't do this alone; we need your support on this exciting journey. Trust us; we have amazing plans in store.
